Iran’s water shortage crisis

Isfahan’s famous Zayandeh Roud river has dried up as a result of the dam upriver where the water is used for domestic and industrial purposes.

The critical water shortage Iran suffers from is the result of decades of bad planning and climate change. Farmers in the once fertile land around Isfahan need to look for other ways to support their family. In the mean time, the riverbanks in the cities and parks continue to be kept green.
