Jews, Christians and Muslims consider the city of Hebron, on the Israeli occupied West Bank, a holy city. Unlike elsewhere on the West Bank, where Jewish settlements are built around the towns and villages, in Hebron a Jewish colony has settled in the middle of the old town. Although the city is predominantly inhabited by Palestinians, Israeli settlers express an even greater – and often negative – influence on the daily lives of the Palestinians.
